Made in Manchester
Brief: Create a copy-based double-sided flyer that celebrates a community.
The inspiration for the leaflet came to me after I read a funny 2019 Manchester Evening News article titled Mancunian Dictionary; that outlined some words you would only hear in Manchester. The intended idea of the design was to create a interesting and fun conversational piece that promoted strong a sense of community. I wanted the design to be really personal for the individuals of Manchester and maybe they could understand.
The word ‘Manchester’ is written in my own handwriting providing a personal touch to a digital design, it also compliments the bold sans-serif font on the rest of the flyer. The coordinates of Manchester are included with my own geometric version of the famous Manchester bee symbol. The yellow-orange background was additionally inspired by the bee.
